Rome, Italy. In accordance with the beatification decree, on February 1 we celebrate the liturgical Memory of Blessed Mateu Casal, Teófilo Casajús, Ferran Saperas and 106 companion martyrs. All of them were beatified on October 21, 2017 at the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain. The idea is that, after the mandatory approval by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, on this same date we can celebrate the memory of the 184 beatified Claretian martyrs until now. The joint celebration will help us to live with more intensity the martyr dimension of our charism. In addition to the materials found on the website www.109cmf.org (especially in the Resources section), we present to you here a new video commemorating the recent beatification of Barcelona:
In our martyrs we see fully fulfilled the "definition of the Missionary". They constitute for all of us models of vocational fidelity "to the end". Through their intercession we commend our own fidelity and the fruit of our evangelizing mission.
